Patio and Concrete Cleaner – An Astonishing Product

First experience

Our new cleaning supplies wholesaler offered this product in their catalogue.  We were intrigued to know if it is as good as it is claimed so Autumn 2023 we bought some.  It was used to treat a small patio out ack of our house.  On this occasion, it was only brushed on to some slabs in a diluted solution and then rinsed off later, as explained in the instructions.  After winter the contrast between treated and untreated slabs was frankly astonishing.

Full Test

During the late spring of 2024 we did a full cleaning test of 3 areas around our house:

Patio Slabs

Cleaning the patio slabs outside of our woodshed demonstrated the effect of using just this cleaner and using it with a pressure washer to rinse off the chemical.  Of 4 slabs, two were left untreated and uncleaned.  One was just washed with the diluted cleaner and one was both washed and  rinsed off with the pressure washer.  The marked impact is clear to see.

Bay patio

We then did a full clean of our Bay window patios.  These came up like new, apart from some small paint splashes that will need a paint remover to deal with.

Back concrete shelf

A concrete shelf at the back of the property is always badly stained after winter so we did another contrast test on this.  An area around a down pipe that had a lot of green algae/mould around it was fully treated and pressure washed.  An area adjacent was just treated and rinsed off.  The next section was left as-is.

Precautions

When using this product, it is essential that the safety information is followed.  We took the extra precaution of locking the cat indoors.  Even though in a diluted state, the acid concentration is low, never assume this will be safe but take all recommended precautions for use and keep animals/children away while cleaning is in progress.
