Fluorescent 880 Highlighter
The M&G Stationery fluorescent 880 highlighter is a classic example of M&G innovation. Gone are the regular rectangular ‘box’ shaped highlighters, in are these slimline models which also boast very bright highlight ink.
The Highlighter inspiration for the Highlighter came from Yukio Horie of the Tokyo Stationery Company in 1962. This was the first water based ink felt tip pen and just a year later Carter’s Ink Company produced a similar product with translucent ink called a ‘Hi-Liter’. It was not until Avery-Dennison bought Carter’s Ink Company in 1978 that the fluorescent ink version came into being. Since then there has been a massive increase in types and styles with numerous ink colours. The standard ink colours are Blue, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple and Yellow and it is these that M&G have adopted for their range.
