Plastic Ruler

A Plastic ruler is essential item for the office and for the student.  These products provide both inch and centimeter measures, are clear and flexible.

Rulers as a means of measuring have been around since 650BC, over 2,500 years!  People made these early devices from copper and they gave them gradations so they could measure accurately.  Astonishingly, they were incredibly accurate, to 1.6mm, which for their era is quite remarkable.  Our modern inventors came up with flexible rulers which were invented 1902 so are comparatively new compared to these ancient copper devices.  There are of course many types today: wooden, folding, retractable tape, cloth tape, metal (steel or aluminium).  You can find rulers of different types in many places: schools, building sites, tailor/seamstresses, offices and so on.
